Moving Day
We have just moved into the rental house, Villa Graziella in Bossolasco.
This furnished ancient house makes me feel like I've stepped into a movie set. Quaint old house in a tiny village. So many possibilities to explore in terms of characters and experiences.
Hubbie and the girls just went over to the neighbor's house to meet their two little girls.
Is amazing to hear Petite speaking Italian.
I am sitting on the balcony looking out on the hills beyond town (Bossolasco). Taking a break from unpacking (after packing up house in Sausalito, coming to the villa, unpacking, and then moving to the rental house and moving in AGAIN).
Church bells chime and across the valley I see a green hill dotted with white moving spots which I realize are sheep. We have donkeys and sheep as neighbors!
Across the street I can see the house has an aquamarine pool in pristine condition.
Most of te homes here are weekend rentals.
Weekend escape for families from Milan and Turin.
Everyone we talk to is visibly surprised when we say we are here for more than just a summer holiday. Clearly, this is not a town people move to long term. Unless you're from here it's more of a holiday destination.
But for us at this point, it's perfect.
With it's quaint streets, perfect for children scootering or bike riding through town to stop for a gelato and a glass of wine, views in every direction, this is the ideal place to plant ourselves while we work on villa San Lorenzo and commence on building our second property, Villa dei Bracchi.
These doilies are ALL over our house.
The girls' favorite: Pasta in Bianco

One of the ugly, musty pieces of furniture I hauled down to basement.
The walls are covered with art. I've probably collected and stored fifty frames already and put in the basement. We need to paint the walls!
To keep or not? Tea set and caddy left by owner.
